National Conference on
Farmers’ Centric Agri-innovation for Sustainable Development
Organised on March 24- 25, 2017

Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur, Alumni Association, CSAUA&T, Kanpur and UPCAR, Lucknow are jointly organized a National Conference on Farmers’ Centric Agri-innovation for Sustainable Development on March 24- 25, 2017 at Kailash Bhawan. The National Conference inaugurated by Dr. Arvind Kumar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Rani Lakshmi Bai Agricultural University, Jhansi. He stressed upon the agriculture production and productivity of wheat in U.P. and also stated about the strategy for doubling the income of the farmers in next six years i.e. by 2022. Dr. Sushil Soloman, Vice Chancellor, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur welcome the guest and delegates and also elaborate the need of improving the productivity of different crops, overcoming biotic and abiotic stresses through innovative technologies and their effective dissemination among the end-users, to bridge the yield gap and also to fully exploit the untapped potential of the rainfed areas and crops. Dr. Munish Kumar, Professor and Organizing Secretary, National Conference speaks about theme of the Conference. He mentioned the 5 major intervention for increasing and doubling the farmer’s incomes through by improving productivity, water and Agri-Input policies, Integrated Farming System, Better market price realization, Special policy measures etc. Dr. N.P. Singh, Director, IIPR, Kanpur has delivered keynote Lecture on the topic of Self-sufficiency in Pulses: Status and Strategies. A total 235 abstracts and 11 lead lectures were received and these are presented in six technical sessions as oral and interactive (poster) presentation by the delegates and scientists of different organizations. A Plenary Session and Closing Ceremony was held on March 25, 2017. The Chief Guest on this occasion was Dr. B.K. Yadav, Managing Director, U.P. Co-operative Sugar Factories Fed. Ltd., Lucknow. He distributed award certificate to the scientist for best performance in poster presentation. The function was presided by Dr. Sushil Soloman, Vice Chancellor Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur. The conference report was presented by Dr. Munish Kumar, Organizing Secretary of the Conference and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. S.K. Singh, President, Alumni Association of this university.
