FREE DENTAL HEALTH CAMP BY DEPT OF PERIODONTOLOGY-RAMA DENTAL COLLEGE

 As part of the collaborative initiative under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Periodontology, Rama Dental College, Hospital & Research Center, and the Jan Jagriti Seva Samiti (JJSS) represented by Shri. Vijay pratap singh, Secretary, JJSS. a Free Dental Health Camp was successfully organized on 7th August 2025 at Ram Janki Inter College, Bithoor, Kanpur. The primary objective of this outreach program was to promote awareness and early detection of oral and periodontal diseases among students and staff members, while also encouraging the adoption of preventive oral health practices among them.

  1. Periodontal Screening and Diagnosis: A dedicated team of PG students and faculty from the Department of Periodontology conducted comprehensive oral & periodontal examinations.

 

  1. Preventive Counselling and Personalized Advice: Participants received individualized counselling sessions focused on improving oral hygiene techniques, understanding risk factors for periodontal diseases, implementing preventive strategies and reinforcing the importance of regular dental check-ups and proper oral care routines.
  2. Oral Health Awareness and Education Session: An interactive educational session was conducted for students and staff to deepen their understanding of oral hygiene and its significance in overall health. The session was moderated by Dr. Anishka Dhanai, Senior Lecturer, Department of Periodontology. She facilitated an engaging discussion between faculty members and students, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in promoting oral and periodontal health at the community level.

Impact and Benefits: This dental health camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with approximately 350 students and staff members availing the benefits of the services offered. The camp not only provided immediate diagnostic and preventive care but also contributed to long-term health awareness among the attendees.
